Do you think it's important for a country to prioritize its own citizens' wellbeing over global cooperation, and why?

As of my understanding of what Nationalism represents to me, it is a fundamental aspect of a society, we should and have to cooperate globally, but we cannot forget our roots, that are placed in the country we were born and were raised, for example as a Nationalist in Brazil you should value your history, culture and society no matter if it is in bad shape. And yes we should prioritize our citizens wellbeing first because they are the base of our economy, they are the minds of the future Brazil, they are the hope, they are everything. Without them, we cannot cooperate in the global scenario.

Yes, absolutely. Like every individual prioritizes its own well-being, the family should prioritize the family‘s well being, etc. etc. so a nation should prioritize the nation‘s well being and a supra national organization e.g. Mercosul should prioritize their purpose etc. whoever is in responsibility to safeguard should then prioritize that responsibility over their own interests with regard to the other, subordinated communities.
