Is it the duty of the government to preserve a nation's traditional values, or should that be left to individuals?

Everyone should make their choice of right and wrong based on their values. The sovereign represents what the majority of society has considered as most pressing, so when certain issues are nit taken seriously by the government, this will influence the power of more populistic systems. when these are keeping human dignity as a value, there is nothing wrong with right wing populism. talking influence on young people through political parties is something that I consider more questionable.
